You’ll Find Much More Than Just Frozen Treats at DC’s Pleasant Pops

There’s nothing like summer in the city, when the temperatures go up and people head outdoors to catch a breeze, and DC’s Pleasant Pops is one of the most popular destinations for locals looking to beat the heat. The company started out small, selling all-natural handmade popsicles in unique flavors at farmers markets around the city, and then in 2012 opened this brick and mortar location on Florida Avenue.

Regulars keep coming back for the can’t-miss popsicles (they recommend the strawberry ginger lemonade and Mexican chocolate varieties), which come in a variety of dairy and non-dairy options. However, there are also plenty of folks who come to Pleasant Pops for its simple, locally-sourced cafe fare. Stop in on your way to the office for a cup of coffee and a scone, meet friends for a salad during your lunch hour, or swing by after work for a soup and sandwich combo. You can even pick up fresh and local honey, dairy products, baked goods, and more in the shop’s market area.
