dLeña Is a New Spot for Mexican Fare Near Rhode Island Row

DC has lots of Mexican food, but not like this. dLeña is a new Mount Vernon Triangle restaurant from brilliant chef Richard Sandoval, and blends classic fare with the smoky finish that only a wood-fired grill can impart. dLeña’s name is actually derived from the Spanish term for firewood, and the menu certainly does the moniker justice. From juicy charred chicken, to smoked chili-rubbed tuna tacos, the oven plays a key part in some of dLeña’s best dishes. For a truly memorable experience, bring a date for the tomahawk steak for two, flambeed tableside with tequila. The bar is a great place to start your night – a gorgeous, golden circular structure in the middle of the dining space with free-flowing tequila drinks and craft cocktails.

It’s been a long year of cooking at home or grabbing take-out. dLeña has the swanky ambiance and exceptional food you’ve been missing. Visit the website to preview the menu, or to make your reservation. And PS…brunch is coming soon!
