A Sense of Wonder At Maydan Restaurant

Maydan. Pronounced with “my-dahn,” “may-dahn.” or “mi-dan,” the word has its roots in multiple languages. Meaning “gathering place” or “square.” It’s one of the many ways to see and celebrate our differences, but realize in the end we’re all the same.

Which is exactly the vibe the restaurant Maydan conveys. The centerpiece of every table is bread, which is made in Maydan’s clay ovens. Bread brings the meal together and bread brings people together. Share with your neighbor, and break bread with your family and friends.

The family-style menu features everything from Honey Soaked Dates and Cauliflower Tabbouleh, to Hummus and Muhammara. From Chicken Shish Taouk and Koobideh, to Ribeye and Lamb Shoulder. Then, make sure to find the perfect condiment for you and your table. Like, Chermoula, Zhough, Tahina, Toum, Harissa, and Ezme.

Maydan is located at 1346 Florida Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20009. Open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 5 pm until 10:30 pm. With the bar hours running until 11 pm.
