Get Creative at the Big Draw Festival on October 27th and 28th

Located at the National Gallery of Art’s East Building, The Big Draw Festival  promotes visual literacy and the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression, and invention. The festival takes place on October 27th and 28th, and it makes a great way to spend a fall weekend.

The event will feature a Sketching Lab, live model sketching, in-gallery sessions with teaching artists, live music, and film screenings. The festival is entirely free and each program is first-come, first served. The museum-wide celebration of drawing is the world’s largest drawing festival and is a great way to enhance your own sketching skills. Check out the following schedule of events:

  • Morning Kick-Offs

    Take Five Meditation leads 45 minutes of mindfulness exercises and communal contemplations to jump-start each day of the festival.
